Our History

In 1991...the Christian Blue Pages began its print operations in Dayton, Ohio. The original telephone directory, named the Central & Southwest Ohio Christian Directory, was released in October of 1991 and covered the metropolitan areas of Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton, Ohio.

In 1992...the nickname “Christian Blue Pages” was adopted. This name reflects the blue paper on which the directory is printed.

In 1993...the Christian Blue Pages was separated into three localized publications: Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky, Dayton/Springfield & Miami Valley, and Columbus & Central Ohio.

In 1996...the Christian Blue Pages diversified by printing its first Christmas Carol Songbook in the Columbus, Ohio market, then added similar books to the Cincinnati and Dayton areas the following holiday season.

In 1997...the Christian Blue Pages brought all graphics and sales operations “in-house,” greatly improving communication and service to its advertising clients and product consumers.

In 1998...the Christian Blue Pages officially launched the Internet Christian Blue Pages (www.christianbluepages.com) listing its business advertisers on an internet directory under every category in which they were featured in the printed Blue Pages. Families could now find products and services from Christian businesses without needing a printed Blue Pages.

In 1999...the Christian Blue Pages launched a localized directory in the Springfield/Urbana, Ohio area (Clark & Champaign Counties), separating the territory from Dayton & Miami Valley edition to better serve those communities.

In 2000...the Christian Blue Pages expanded its promotional options for advertisers by offering Internet Home Page development services, providing consultation, design and service for business owners desiring to have World Wide Web presence for their companies.

 

In 2001...the Christian Blue Pages celebrated its 10th anniversary by releasing its fifth Christian business directory, the Northern Kentucky Christian Blue Pages, branching the new directory off of the Greater Cincinnati edition.

In 2002...the Christian Blue Pages unveiled its new logo design and marketing campaign, encouraging consumers that need products or services to get it “out of the blue.” In addition the Christian Blue Pages expanded to Indiana, releasing its premier editions of the Indianapolis Christian Blue Pages and Christmas Carol Songbook.

In 2003...the Christian Blue Pages added directory #7, releasing the Anderson/Muncie (IN) Christian Blue Pages.

In 2004...the Christian Blue Pages developed its first broadcast “jingle”, emphasizing the trust theme, and developed its new market launch plan in preparation for national expansion.

In 2005...the Christian Blue Pages expanded to N.E. Ohio, releasing its eighth Christian business directory, the Akron/Canton Christian Blue Pages in the fall. Sales also began for the Greater Cleveland edition.

In 2006...the Christian Blue Pages celebrated its 15th anniversary by releasing its ninth Christian business directory, the Greater Cleveland Christian Blue Pages, in the spring.

In 2007...the Christian Blue Pages revamped its website, launching www.BluePages.com, more user friendly, with super search capabilities.

In 2008... the Christian Blue Pages added on-line advertising opportunities with Banner Advertising and promoted Coupons on-line. Redesigned and renamed Christmas Carol Songbook to the Christmas Blue Pages, with new features..

In 2009...the Christian Blue Pages launched a newly improved website with superior search capabilities, ease of navigation, and enhanced advertiser promotions.
